Documents Required for GST Registration in India
Use this 2026 checklist to gather every document the GST portal asks for before you start your application. Requirements vary by entity type — pick the section that matches your business and tick items off as you collect them. Having scans ready (PDF or JPEG, under 100 KB each) makes the online filing flow on the GST portal smooth and avoids common rejection reasons.

A few quick notes
- • Address proof must be the most recent copy — typically issued within the last two months.
- • If the premises are owned by a family member, attach a consent letter plus their ID proof.
- • The authorised signatory's mobile and email receive every OTP, so use details you actively monitor.
- • Bank account details can be added after GSTIN is issued, but submitting them upfront speeds up verification.
